The ‘More is More’ Cake

For a surrealist birthday party, we created a giant eyeball cake, lovingly named the ‘MORE IS MORE’ Cake in love of excess and maximal living. Marina decided to make it a “prinsesstårta” - a princess cake which originated in Sweden in the 1920s, so named because the princesses of the era were particularly fond of it. Measuring 65cm in diameter, she took the scale and proportions of the classic Scandinavian torte’s layered sponge cake, strawberry jam, vanilla custard and whipped cream to the next level.

The iris and pupil were made with an edible print on sugar paper.
